What to expect with Bronzed & Blessed Sunless Spray Tanning
Every Appointment
Your appointment begins with a detailed consultation to understand your preferences and desired results. From there, I’ll choose the ideal solution for your skin to ensure a natural, flawless tan. You’ll also receive personalized care and product recommendations to help your tan last longer and fade naturally.
- Every spray tan includes a Hydrating Prep Spray designed to nourish the skin with amino acids and hyaluronic acid. Its pH‑balancing technology helps create the perfect canvas and extend the life of your tan.
- I use luxury spray tan solutions formulated with high‑quality, skin‑loving ingredients for a flawless, natural-looking glow.
- Once your tan is applied, I follow with a Setting Spray that hydrates and tones the skin to lock everything in.
- To finish, I apply a Finishing Powder so your skin feels dry, soft, and comfortable - never sticky.
What to Wear During Your Spray Tan
Dark‑colored undergarments or swimsuits are recommended.
- Women: Undress to your comfort level. Disposable thongs are provided; tops are not.
- Men: Nudity is not permitted. Appropriate bottoms include briefs, boxers, board shorts, or speedos.
Inappropriate coverage includes nudity, jock straps, socks, etc.
For male appointments, my husband will be in the vicinity during the session. - Minors: Must be fully covered. A parent or legal guardian must sign a consent form and remain present for the entire appointment.
NOTE: If you know you want a spray tan, it is best to stay hydrated, drinking water and keep skin always moisturized days before your appointment. This ensures the quality and longevity of your spray tan.
NOTE: I will not spray sunburn or peeling skin. You will need to come in after you are healed.
NOTE: If you are PREGNANT… Congratulations!! DHA and the other ingredients in spray tan solution are generally considered safe and only affect the outermost layer of skin and do not get absorbed into the bloodstream. However, you will need to wait until after your 1st trimester, sign a consent form and have your OB sign it as well.
Special Event Coming Up? Let’s Get You Beautifully Bronzed
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that if you desire a spray tan for a special event (wedding, prom, school dance, party, date, birthday) that you schedule a trail spray tan weeks before the event so we can dial in the perfect outcome for your special day.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND if you are going to spray tan but you have other beauty appointments (e.g. hair, nails, or waxing) that you have them done PRIOR to your appointment. For waxing I strongly recommend AT LEAST 72 hours before your spray tan appointment.
Tan‑Saving Essentials for a Beautiful Fade

The right products make all the difference in how long your tan lasts and how beautifully it fades.
LOTIONS — Spray‑Tan Approved
Spray‑tan‑approved lotions are water‑based and free from ingredients that can cause premature fading or discoloration. Avoid products containing mineral oils, sulfates, parabens, petroleum, and heavy fragrances.
Approved lotion options include (but are not limited to):
- CeraVe
- Cetaphil
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizing
- Hempz Original
- Native
- Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant
Daily moisturizing is essential to keeping your tan fresh, even, and glowing.
BODY WASH — Spray‑Tan Approved
Approved body washes are sulfate‑free, oil‑free, and pH‑balancing to prevent streaking and premature fading.
Recommended body washes include (but are not limited to):
- CeraVe Hydrating Body Wash
- Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash
- Native Body Wash
Please avoid: Dove, Olay, Dial, and Irish Spring, as these can strip your tan and cause uneven fading.
SUNSCREEN — Spray‑Tan Approved
Spray‑tan‑approved sunscreens are oil‑free, alcohol‑free, and moisturizing. These protect your skin without breaking down your tan.
Approved sunscreen options include (but are not limited to):
- Sun Bum Original SPF 30/50/70 — non‑greasy and moisturizing
- COOLA Organic or Mineral SPF 50 — lightweight and alcohol‑free
- Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Mineral
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF 30/50 — water‑based
- Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen or Mineral Powder — oil‑free and makeup‑friendly
Reminder: Spray tans are not sunscreen. Always protect your skin to prevent burning and uneven fading.
REMOVER — Spray‑Tan Removers
Before your next spray tan appointment, all old spray tan must be fully removed and prep steps completed again. This is typically done around 7–10 days, depending on how well your tan is holding up.

Prep & Post‑Care: The Secret to Your Best Glow
Prep, Wait, Rinse, Care
PREP — Before Your Spray Tan
1. Exfoliate & Shave the Night Before
Exfoliating removes dead skin cells so your tan applies evenly and fades naturally. Shower using hot water, an exfoliating mitt, and a spray‑tan‑approved body wash.
- Do not use washcloths, loofahs, or sugar scrubs—they do not exfoliate effectively. **Sugar scrubs can leave a residue on the skin that creates a barrier and will affect your spray tan results. For best results, I recommend exfoliating ONLY with an exfoliating mitt.**
- Hot water helps strip the skin and remove buildup.
- Shave the same night unless you’re prone to razor burn—if so, shave two nights before your appointment. **Razors with moisture strips can leave a residue on the skin that creates a barrier and may affect your spray tan results. For best results, I recommend exfoliating after shaving with an exfoliating mitt and a spray‑tan‑approved body wash.**
- Do not shower right before your appointment. Skin layers remain damp for hours and can negatively affect your tan. Shower the night before your appointment.
2. Arrive with Clean, Dry Skin
Please arrive with no lotion, deodorant, makeup, sunscreen, oils, perfume, or body spray on your skin.
- If coming from work or school, you may use an oil‑free makeup wipe or body wipe to remove products.
- Deodorant residue can turn green if not fully removed. If needed, choose an aluminum‑free, paraben‑free deodorant, but it must still be removed before spraying.
- Spray‑tan‑approved exfoliating prep mitts are available for purchase if you feel your prep wasn’t ideal.
3. Hair Preparation
Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Hair must be secured off the face and shoulders. A disposable hair net will be provided.
4. What to Wear During Your Spray Tan

5. Post‑Tan Clothing
Wear or bring loose‑fitting, dark clothing. Best options include sweatpants, pajama pants, oversized tops, and hoodies.
- Avoid bras and socks if possible.
- Footwear should be flip‑flops or slippers.
- No jeans or leggings. Tight clothing can disrupt your tan.
WAIT TIME — Between Spray & First Rinse
Until your first rinse:
- Avoid water, sweating, or touching your skin.
- Be mindful not to press skin against skin or others (crossed arms, hands under chin, sleeping on hands, holding hands, etc.).
- Drink through a straw to avoid wetting your mouth area.
- Avoid brushing teeth, washing hands or dishes, and bathing children.
RINSE TIME — First Rinse Instructions
You will be given a specific rinse time after your appointment. This time is not a suggestion—rinsing as instructed is crucial for optimal results.
The bronzer may appear dark or uneven before rinsing. This is completely normal.
1. Rinse at Your Assigned Time
Use lukewarm water and your hands only.
- No soap, washcloths, or loofahs.
- Gently rub your entire body as the bronzer rinses away until water runs clear.
2. Pat Dry
Gently pat your skin dry—do not rub.
Your tan will appear lighter at this stage. Do not worry. Full development takes up to 24 hours.
3. After 24 Hours
Your tan is fully developed 24 hours after application. You may shower with spray-tan approved body wash and begin moisturizing with a spray‑tan‑approved lotion at this time.
AFTER CARE — Maintaining Your Tan
1. Moisturize Daily
Moisturize 1–2 times daily using a spray‑tan‑approved lotion.
2. Shower Smart
Use warm water and spray‑tan‑approved body wash.
Hot water and baths can cause premature and uneven fading—limit when possible.
3. Shaving
Shave every other day if possible. Use gentle pressure and spray‑tan‑approved body wash.
4. Dry Gently
Pat skin dry after showering—avoid rubbing with towels.
5. Avoid Chlorine
Pools and hot tubs can fade your tan unevenly. If exposed, rinse with fresh water and moisturize.
6. Sun Safety
Spray tans are not sunscreen. You can still burn. Use a spray‑tan‑approved sunscreen to protect your skin and maintain an even fade.
